Getting Closer

The backyard progresses to a state where we can enjoy it. We still need more flowers and some other things, but it's so nice to hang out back there and read or eat dinner or sit around the fire pit. And with this great weather, we are out there all the time.
I am now 36 weeks pregnant and after next week, will have a full-term baby walking around in there. It is still pretty surreal that this bump will be a whole other person in a couple weeks. Everything is about ready!

Spring was here.

Spring was here, but now it is cold and grey again. But during the nice weather, Ben and I were busy.
Went to the Cherry Blossom Festival in Fairmount Park, took a birthing class, hosted a fun easter brunch, and hauled 1.4 tons of concrete out to New Jersey from the back yard.
Only 5 weeks left before my due date and everything is almost ready. At our last ultrasound, the baby was about 4.25 lbs. and the doctor said that the baby would not be too big. Yay for me!
The backyard looks great and we bought some comfy lounge chairs for it - pictures of all of Ben's hard work coming soon! The baby's room is almost done - still waiting on a glider chair that we ordered and a commissioned painting by my mom.

Baby Shower

On Saturday, my friends, Jenny and Laura threw me a baby shower. I am not usually a fan of showers, but I actually had a really fun time at this one. There were no games, no activities (by my request), just really really good food, some great gifts, and a lot of the people I love. Friends from New York came down and my Mom and sister came up from DC. It was really special having them all there, along with all my Philly friends. Everyone has been really supportive and Ben and I really appreciated all the gifts!

Progress

Backyard, after the grass. Concrete still needs to be hauled away, but we've already spent a nice day together in the sunshine back there.
